The Michigan Holiday Food, Grocery & Gift Guide

On December 9, 2009 the Made on Michigan Movement released our first annual MI Holiday Food, Grocery & Gift Guide. The Guide features a representative sampling of over 140 Michigan-based businesses from every region in the state. The Food and Grocery sections showcase some of Michigan’s highest quality meat, dairy, bakery, fruits, nuts, sweets, snacks, condiments and beverages. If your local food retailer does not carry these items, please insist that they do. Demand will create supply. Additionally, the Guide features great gift ideas for boys, girls, men and women of all ages. These gifts range from golf products to puzzles to candles all of which are made right here in Michigan. MI Holiday Food, Grocery and Gift Guide a Success!

The Guide has been a smashing success! A press release was issued to media sources from around the state. In one week, it was featured in The Detroit Free Press, Time magazine’s Detroit blog, Crain’s Detroit Business, and numerous other print and online sources. Further, radio coverage has been incredible as well. It was covered by the Great Lakes IT Report on WWJ in Detroit as well as Michigan Public Radio which is broadcasted to the Detroit, Ann Arbor, Flint, and Grand Rapids markets. In addition, our analytics showed that thousands of guests from 31 states and 9 countries as far away as Japan visited the website since the release date. We anticipate that the first ever MI Holiday Food, Grocery & Gift Guide will be seen by over 75,000 people by the end of this year.

The software development company Intuit is giving companies a chance to win up to $5,000 in grant money. Each month, Intuit selects companies for $1,000 grants and one company will be chosen to have their grant blessed with an additional $4,000.

MiMM Sets New Pricing For 2010 Memberships

When we started the Made in Michigan Movement one year ago, we offered the opportunity for everyone to get in at the lowest prices possible. We have kept our promise to keep the prices affordable while continuing to develop the Made in Michigan Movement as a genuine value to all Michigan companies. Next year, the prices of the Intermediate and Premium Business memberships will see an increase as well as a significant boost in their value packages. This will be most evident in the Premium Business membership. Premium memberships will be $149 and will also allow companies to post video content to our Youtube channel, invitations to 8 MiMM events, priority invites to major MiMM events, and unique and effective networking opportunities. The Intermediate membership will be $99. Both memberships offer a renewal discount. Businesses that purchased an Intermediate or Premium membership in 2009 will be grandfathered, with the renewal discount, at 2009 prices for as long as you remain a member. There is still time left in the year to qualify for this bargain. New pricing begins January 1, 2010.
