Paperworks Studio ™ helps people with disabilities or disadvantages overcome barriers to independence. Our card artists and design team craft beautiful handmade paper and cards. In the process our artists discover a sense of pride and self sufficiency.

Furnace Design Studio, LLC, which also houses the Glass Academy proprietary school, was founded by artists Chris Nordin and Michelle Plucinsky. Furnace Design Studio is one of Metro Detroit's most renowned glass studios, producing work for a worldwide clientele with a focus on highly crafted glass manufacturing.

Glass Academy, LLC, founded in 2005, is the only state-certified proprietary school in Michigan teaching the glass and fiber arts. We are located in a 14,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility in Dearborn off of Trowbridge, cross streets are Michigan Ave. and Gulley. Glass Academy, LLC offers classes in hot glass, stained glass, torchwork, and neon from beginning through advanced skill levels.

We also offer space at our facility for special events, private parties, and fundraisers.

Brown Dog Welding is a one man welding and fabrication shop located just north of Detroit in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Currently specializing in unique and personalized accessories,home furnishings, and hot rod and motorcycle sculptures, I also welcome commissioned projects. If you have an aluminum, stainless, or mild steel project you’d like a hand with, let me know; whether it requires GTAW, SMAW, or GMAW, I can help you out.

Ceramic Sculpture

Most of my work consists of wheel thrown, RAKU or High Fired porcelain, forms based on organic patterns of microscopic and macroscopic organisms.

Some are based on seed pods, teeth, pollen, sea animals, squash, and other forms, but as the development proceeds, they merge and take on new forms of possible and imaginary organisms.

All are hand made, wheel thrown, one of a kind pieces, usually done in a series, so there might be some similarity among some pieces, but no two are ever exactly alike.

It is our goal to be a traditional, open market that is affordable and inclusive. We want to increase the City of Grand Rapids' visibility on the emerging artist and artisan scene. Our focus is giving a high profile outlet to artists who may not otherwise be able to reach their audience.

We are located just west of the corner of Fuller NE and E. Fulton in Grand Rapids. We are open mid-June through the end of September. If you would like more in formation please contact us.
